Kinship Care

Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Service Society (KKCFSS) is responsible for providing Kinship Care for First Nation, Métis and Inuit children that are required to live apart from their immediate families. We invite you to join our team in efforts to improve the safety and well-being of our children and families by sharing your home and providing care to a child in care. As a Kinship Care Parent, we require caregivers who will:

  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children Temporarily or Long-term who are in need of alternate care
  • Support and embrace every aspect of a child’s being, including connection to their culture, tradition, heritage and language
  • Work as a team member to ensure that Children receive quality care and thrive to their full capacity and potential
  • Advocate on behalf of a child to ensure that their rights and their being are respected

Children are a gift from the Creator, and we believe they need to be treated as the sacred beings they are. There is no resource that is more vital to the continued existence and integrity of First Nation, Métis and Inuit other than their children.
