Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Service Society (KKCFSS) provides cultural connections services to Aboriginal families throughout the Kootenays, both on and off reserve.
Services Include:
- Researching ancestral (family and cultural) history of Aboriginal children in care
- Creating family trees/genograms
- Creating information on Nations of children in care (i.e. territory, food, language, housing, creation story)
- Facilitating review of Nation information collected by the Nation that the information is about
- Leading activities at cultural gatherings
- Providing information and working collaboratively with Kinship Care parents, social workers, Bands, and associations
- Advising children and families at risk how
