Ktunaxa Nation Youth Hockey is for children and youth who have not had the opportunity to play hockey previously. The program provides free equipment, coaching and ice time, and normally runs from October to March each year.
This program is extremely popular and is making a real difference for the kids and youth participating. It provides the opportunity for underfunded youth to participate in hockey. Due to financial barriers, this Hockey program opens the opportunity for these youth to participate in organized sport. Through our program they learn the fundamentals of the sport and progress to advanced skills, often accompanied by capacity building and mentoring opportunity for the older youth (a chance to lead by example).
